I love my job and i love the crew members at my job. I do not love the pay and under appreciation. Our field leader is amazing and both of our APs are the best. Every other position above SM looks down on us and we are constantly being told we are disappointments. SMs, KMs, and APs are overworked.
Briefly describe your overall experience at your company
I have been let down from the managers daily. I'm at the point where I cry every morning before coming here because I hate this job and don't get paid enough for our hard work. My crew and I have talked about unionizing
What makes you most happy at work?
my coworkers. nothing about the work or higher ups.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The crew members and the relationships we have built wirh them as managers.
What are some of the best things about your team?
My team is like a family. We celebrate holidays together and are involved in each others lives outside of Chipotle.
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
We need a better pay and a better form of communication from higher up management (above AP). And also the constant negative reinforcement needs to stop. Along with the unachievable expectations put in place for such short staffed shifts.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
Not picking favorites, such as my gm who comes in to flirt with all the boys at our store. Also, to not blame every mistake on us, we are trying our hardest and it feels like no one can see it or cares.
What are some of the best things about your team?
My team is like my family, we all work really well together but its sad to see all the best people leaving due to the work environment such as low wages, rude customers, and the gm making us reclean what others have done just because its not perfect in her eyes
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
I honestly can think of more negatives than positives. Overall working for this company the culture is toxic, the higher ups dont care about us wage workers. Our pay stays the same while they stuff their pocket with our profits. The ceo's money is made up of blood and tears of the workers
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
The leadership positions need to undertand that we are people and not machines. There have been numerous times where i was at the store until 3 in the morning after working a double and i did not even recieve a thank you from higher management.There is no communication unless its negative from them
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Me and every other SM, KM, and AP at this location feels completely undervalued. We are receiving a pay less than stores that make half of our daily sales. With having short staffing and over $10,000 in sales daily with only one SM on every shift it is ridiculous that im making only $17.50/hr.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
At my store for example we are one of the busiest stores in Philly, but we are paid less than many other food places in the area! Being super busy and getting paid $2 less than PotBelly next door from us who is much slower is degrading. As the prices continue to rise our pay doesn't!
What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
300 characters is not enough to list what can be improved. For starters when the higher ups come to the store it is frustrating when the ridicule every little thing, when in reality when was it the last time they have worked at Chipotle on the line! The things they want us to do, don't work!
