Overall I think Stop and Shop is a very good company, what I would say is that we sometimes put people in roles to check off a box rather than put the best person who can make the biggest impact in a specific role. The company could utilize new associates prior experiences more strategically.
What are some of the best things about your team?
I think my team is very good at following through on execution overall and they do their best to meet company goals on metric driven KPI's.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
I think they do a decent job of communicating out to the organization how we are doing financially as well as how the company is doing overall on key KPI information.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
The bonus potential is very strong compared to industry peers overall. Also the company makes a good effort to retain employees with regards to long term incentive as well a phenomenal 401k match.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
I feel that good leadership can directly make an impact on overall culture when your associates feel you are fair, approachable and realistic in expectations. A good leader who is empathetic can change the culture very quickly in a district or region if given the opportunity to do so.
What makes you most happy at work?
I am most happy when my team delivers on results and I take pride in celebrating their successes. I also like the direct impact I can make on associates directly by simply listening to them as well as teaching them something new about the business. There is an opportunity to do this often in my role
