Methodology
Comparably’s “Best Of” lists are derived from sentiment ratings provided by employees who anonymously rated their employers on Comparably.com during the 2017 eligibility period (1/1/17– 11/17/17). There were no fees or costs associated with participating, nor was nomination required. Large companies are considered organizations with more than 500 employees whereas small/mid-size are businesses with less than 500 employees. Companies are ranked highest to lowest.

Rules

Showcasing and rewarding transparent company cultures has never been more important than it is today. At Comparably, we aim to showcase the most fair and accurate representation of company cultures with a data-driven approach. In addition we give voice to underrepresented employees who want to really understand: What’s the company culture for someone like me? At the close of 2017, Comparably will honor companies and business leaders who make their workplaces rewarding for their teams.

Comparably‘s annual “Best Places to Work” list is compiled from millions of data points of anonymous and public employee contribution on Comparably.com. We have a vast and unique data set that examines multiple aspects of a company culture, that can be broken down by various demographics of a company’s employee base. Our “Best Of” lists will include categories such as:

— Best Overall Company Culture

— Best CEOs

— Best Managers

— Best Company Compensation

— Best Perks & Benefits

— Best Companies for Women

— Best Companies for Diversity

The results will be published on Comparably.com and syndicated online, in print, and on camera with Press. Some past examples of our Best Places to Work lists were featured in the following publications: Forbes, Fortune, Techcrunch & Mashable & Fast Company.

There is no self-nomination process or costs involved. To be eligible to win a Comparably Culture Award, Companies must have minimum threshold of ratings of their employees who have left (anonymous) public ratings on their company page on Comparably.

Employees are encouraged to submit ratings now through the end of the eligibility period on November 17, 2017 at 11:59PM PST.  Honorees who make the Comparably best of lists will be announced at the end of the year.
