How common is it to switch departments or teams at Boostability?
Common. When people see an opening in another department that they feel will help them better their career they're not afraid to apply for it and switch over.
It is not very common, from what I've seen.
You can expect to switch departments or teams quite often, depending on how much you want to move up in the company. If you're a great performer, you're going to most likely move to a position that pays better. Typically you stay in the same department, but sometimes you will transfer to a different one. From what I've seen you always have a say in the matter. No promotion is mandatory ;)
How rewarding is your job at Boostability?
Very. The most rewarding job I've had yet.
Certain positions, like the one I hold, are very rewarding. I work directly with customers, and it's very rewarding to help small business owners succeed. Some positions, however, are very routine and somewhat boring. Those positions tend to have the highest turnaround.
It's nice, I feel like I am recognized for work I do, and the work feels nice usually.

All kinds. We are of the mindset that you get out what you put into your job. If you want to succeed you will and all of the management that I have ever worked with have been very helpful in helping me succeed.
Ambitious people who have direction, goals, and know how to learn from mistakes and constructive criticism. That may be me. If not, I'm definitely succeeding with the smaller decisions that lead to the bigger ones.
You have to be hard-working to succeed at Boostability. Those who work extra hard will be promoted. Boostability is great if you want to have a low-stress work environment. Sure, you're expected to work hard, but you've got plenty of friends and support on your team who are willing to help you.

It is not difficult.
It is not difficult at all.
How's the feedback proccess at Boostability?
I get feedback fairly frequently in my position. I meet with my supervisor once a week to go over what I'm doing and get feedback on everything. Most of the time it's a casual meeting where you go over your work and talk about how you're doing, what your struggle points are, and what you can do to improve.
There is not a very good one.
It's the BEST! I've never worked for a company like Boostability. There is almost always an avenue to leave feedback for anyone. If you see a problem with management or with the company, Boostability will always address your concerns. Sometimes you're even rewarded for your feedback.

What interview questions does Boostability ask?
How do you prioritize your tasks each day? What is your method of time management? Can you give us an example of how you handled a stressful situation? What would you change about your current department and/or position? Have you told your supervisor about that?
I don't remember that well, but I remember some questions about boostability's core values. If you want to be prepared for the interview, I recommend visiting the boostability website, and checking out the info about the company culture. Of course, be prepared for all of the regular interview questions.
What makes you a good candidate for this position?
What's the interview process like at Boostability?
Pretty straightforward. They follow up with emails all the time so I always know what's going on, which is really nice.
Your first interview will be a recorded video interview. It's awkward. During mine, I had some random repairman in my apartment listening to me interview. You need to do well on this interview though because whether or not you get a live interview depends on the video interview. Oh, and dress to impress. Don't be a grunge. I've never seen someone get hired who came to the interview in shorts and a t shirt.
There's an initial video interview that initially feels intimidating, but is understandably valuable. An in office interview was focused and relaxed.
What unique perks and benefits does Boostability provide?
free soda
Team lunches and company parties.
Free movies, lots of prizes for games and going above and beyond your normal duties, and the subsidized vending machines are really cool.
How common are layoffs at Boostability?

There have been many layoffs over the last 5 years. Recently they cut everyone salary, but left execs making $300k year.
They have had many layoffs in 2024 as they switch to AI content and lost their biggest partner Thryv. There was a big one affecting over 100 employees in November
There were multiple rounds when I was there in 2017
How much diversity is there among employees at Boostability?
a lot
Some, but not enough.
Diversity is a broad term that could reference a multitude of things. Culturally, I think we have quite a few varieties in the office. Racially it's still predominantly white. Personalities are all over the place, which is awesome.
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Boostability?
Boostability gives a lot to their employees and I love that. Sometimes, though, people start to feel like they are entitled to things or deserve more and more even though they already give more than most companies. I wish there was a way that we could curb the whininess a little more.
I would provide fully-paid health insurance.
I feel as we continue to grow, additional opportunities will become available for more to advance their careers
What do people at Boostability think about the CEO? What do they do well and what can they improve?
I don't know if many people feel like they actually know the CEO but they like what they have seen of him, I think. Me personally, I don't feel like I know him or what he does but I get the feeling that he's just super busy all the time although I don't know what he is doing. I think he could let us know what he does and how we could help the company succeed more.
People like the CEO and the executive team. I feel that Gavan Thorpe could improve on rubbing shoulders with some of the lower people in the company. He rarely comes out to the work floor, and when he does, he talks to the middle-managers. It's not a big deal, but you asked what the CEO could do to improve, right?
I hear nothing but positive feedback about the CEO
How's the vacation policy at Boostability?
Nice. Better than other jobs I've had.
It's decent. 11 paid days off your first year, plus 10 other paid holidays. After that, you're looking at 16+ paid days off plus 10 holidays.
Very competitive. Far more than I've had anywhere else I've worked
