Q&A With AECOM Employees

Asked to all employees at AECOM

  • The vibe is good, currently. We are busy (currently too busy), but it sure beats being too slow! After a slow period for a couple years, we pared down to all high quality employees, and have been lucky thus far in our new hires over the last year, so the team overall is strong, work is plentiful, and the vibe is collaborative and generally good, despite the fact that no raises have been awarded for 2 YEARS. A revisiting of wage increases has been promised for June. If no raises are given again - mutiny.

Asked to the Design Department at AECOM

  • The pay is higher than my last job, but still not great. Designer level 2 starts at about $55K and can go up from there. The past two years have been essentially no raise (1% increase across the board)

Asked to the Design Department at AECOM

  • It's fairly laid back in my office, but certain team members have no issue asking you to work overtime or work on your day off, and will give you an attitude if you say you can't. Deadlines aren't always managed properly, causing major chaos and stress around the time when things are due.

Asked to the Design Department at AECOM

  • In the past year we have gone through 2 team managers, two upper level managers, and have an overall regional design manager who is not engaged with our office. Honestly, the leadership is lacking and it is very obvious when you look at the team that there is no one overseeing them.
