Ms. Karen S. Lynch serves as the President of Coventry Health Care Inc. Ms. Lynch has been the President at Aetna Inc. since January 1, 2015. She served as the President of CIGNA Dental Health of Florida, Inc., and CIGNA Insurance Group Inc. She served as an Executive Vice President at Aetna Inc., since June 07, 2012 and also served as its Head of Local and Regional Businesses., since February 2013. She served as the Head of Specialty Products at Aetna Inc. from June 7, 2012 to February 2013. Ms. Lynch has nearly two decades of experience in the health care industry. She served as the President of Magellan Health Services Inc. from August 1, 2009 to June 2012 where she was responsible for the strategic direction and profit and loss of its behavioral health, radiology, specialty pharmaceuticals and Medicaid pharmacy benefits administration business units. Ms. Lynch served as the President at CIGNA Dental & Vision, a subsidiary of CIGNA Corp., from April 2004 to June 2009. She served as the President of CIGNA Group Insurance, a subsidiary of CIGNA Corp., from November 2005 to June 2009. She served as the President of health care specialty businesses, including the Pharmacy, Behavioral, Dental and Vision business units for CIGNA HealthCare. She served as the President of CIGNA Specialty Companies, a subsidiary of CIGNA Corp., from November 2004 to November 2005. Ms. Lynch held numerous financial leadership roles since joining CIGNA in 1991, including Chief Underwriting Officer of CIGNA HealthCare from January 2003 to April 2004. She has been a Director at U.S. Bancorp since December 2015. She served as the Senior Vice President, Underwriting of CIGNA HealthCare. She served as the Financial Officer for field operations at CIGNA HealthCare, where she improved earnings performance and drove improvements in broker/sales operations, membership reporting, contracting and claim accuracy. Additionally, she led the design and implementation of a new CIGNA HealthCare organizational structure. In 2011, she co-chaired the Health Care and Pharmaceutical Task Force for the Wall Street Journal Women in the Economy Conference. Before joining CIGNA, she held management positions at Mass Mutual Financial Services, Monarch Capital Corporation and Ernst & Young. She also serves on the advisory board for Ernst & Young's Boston office. Ms. Lynch was named the ???Most Influential in Specialty Health??? for 2012 by the National Association for Specialty Health Organizations. She also was named on the Business Insurance ???Women to Watch??? list. She is a Certified Public Accountant. Ms. Lynch is a graduate of Boston College with a B.S. Accounting in 1984 and earned an M.B.A. from Boston University in 1999.
