American Express Interviews Employee Reviews

What did you like most about the interview process?

You spoke with different interviewers.

They show their good company culture at the interview process.

It was a very easy process but after i was hired i found out they just wanted me since i was a black female so i got different treatment than others. They paired me with a "buddy" who repeatedly tells me i was the worse candidate and need to step up.

Review from IT Dept

fully transparent and clear with candidates

The recruiter was very down to earth and friendly, informative, and upbeat.

The interviewers were so kind

Got to know many of the leaders in a short time

Consideration for my time. Straightforward questions

It is different and makes you think outside the box

Not as intimidating as some peers, and usually doesnt require a myriad of interviews

The process mimicked challenges faced by the role I was applying for, involved a case study and was very transparent in their expectations. There was room for me to be valued based by my skills

Gave biscuits and tea, then interviewer showed cleavage to check if i get distracted or not.

Review from Operations Dept

Thorough interview process. First round includes screening wherein you are called and all of the necessary info is taken. Then the interview rounds with the hiring manager takes place

Short interview process. I got hired the day after my interview.

Review from Engineering Dept

It was more about finding out if I had similar vision

Relevant questions and friendly employees

hyped a lot about benfits of working

Review from Engineering Dept

It was quick and within a week

Review from Business Development Dept

With so many vacancies now (alot of people left), Amex is desperate to hire and they have been faster in hiring people.

Fair, balanced. They try and fet the best out if you

What would you improve about your company's interview process?

Need to be more fair

Review from Business Development Dept

It is just a bad company

Asking people questions appropriate for their role and relaxing the requirements that make it difficult to move up in the organization. We lost so many great female leaders in IT because they couldn't pass a java coding exam.

The interview process is awful, they don't seem to understand that not everyone is an engineer. The onboarding process makes up for it.
