If you get in the right department your work life can be better balanced.
Colleagues helping each other out
Great culture, wonderful people, amazing perks
Colleagues at American Expressed are encouraged to bring their "Whole Self" to work. Leadership strives to ensure all lifestyles are represented. There are numerous colleague networks that address those values.
For the most part , Ive had a positive experience with the exception of Centurion as that it is where all my issues started . There needs to be trainers that actually know Centurion as mines did not work in Centurion at all . I endured workplace bullying here which i am now having to seek therapy .
I enjoy being around bright people and I think my co-workers are among the brightest.

There needs to be a leadership overhaul, bring in people that are innovative and understand how to build a positive and Agile organization not rely on controlling legacy leaders to change it - they can't.
Respect and inclusion. Systematic bias is very well engrained and the system grows toxic leaders. The voice of colleagues don’t matte
realistic timelines and willingness to stay the course for an iteration
An understanding of the leadership behaviors that contribute to a great culture.
Focus on the bigger picture. Too much is flowing down to the front lines, without thought to how it impacts our productivity and ability to truly impact the company. Leadership needs to be more in touch with the field and what is going on at a day to day basis.
delegation or work needs to be distributed better
Review from Finance Dept
There is way too much turnover. In my service center where there were 1500 employees at one time, now it's about half that and the company appears to care much more about getting by today than planning for the future. More so than anything, I feel AXP is in a downward spiral.

3+ years and you can’t implement change. Everything is more about what level are you. Lots of beurocacy, too. Only staying because I can work from home a lot.
