When I started here we were just starting the converting from Alexian Brothers Sherbrooke Village to Ascension Living Sherbrooke Village. It was difficult having one Administrator retire and getting a new one. They both are hard working men but different personalities. The remodeling has been tough.
What are some of the best things about your team?
We have some friendship from working so close together. And most of the time we work as a team.
What makes you most happy at work?
The friendship I have made with coworkers and residents. Also some of the compliments I receive from coworkers, residents, visitors and managers.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The connection that the staff has with some of the residents. Some of them are like family and we take their leaving and/or deaths very difficult.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
Freddy England is an Excellent Administrator and keeps us informed of the changes. He is very active in all buildings, walks the buildings and speaks to the residents, he works long hours and works very well with the front office staff.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I feel we are underpaid and there should be more incentives for the employees to stay. We have a big turnover and not enough staff in almost all of the departments in our buildings. Maybe when we get the bonus check they issue them as a separate check so we do not get as much in taxes take out.
