I do love working for Ascension. The pay is inferior to most other systems. I think that a tremendous amount of work needs to be done to hear and value the voice of those doing the work. I feel like the safety culture of the organization needs work, from the very top down to the front line.
What makes you most happy at work?
The ability to lead a dynamic team that is working on creating a safer, more inclusive culture.
What are some of the best things about your team?
The genuine and candid interactions. We look out for one another and are supportive of each other.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
My immediate team is the most positive thing about my environment. They are engaged and always trying to ensure that the patients, staff/providers and the organization overall are being looked out for.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
My direct leader is engaged and invested in me as a professional and an individual. Her peers do not always make it easy to do the work but she continues to advocate for our teams and the work being done.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
The level of work I am doing at a national level is not recognized as such. I am compared to those who have a much smaller scope within a market/at a market level. I have a national scope and yet my compensation does not reflect that. My pay is reflective of those with an in-market regional scope.
