What do you like best about the leadership team?

My managers treat us like people

Knowledgeable, fun, concerned about people.

Most seem to actually care

flexibility from two of my managers but not the third

Open and honest. He is willing to call you out on mistakes, but never puts you down.

Review from Sales Dept

They take the time to listen to my concerns and they go to bat for us.

Review from Sales Dept

they love the fact that they work in a book store and they're very knowledgeable especially on their specialty sections

Review from Sales Dept

everyone works together and keeps a good teamwork

Review from Sales Dept

They're real people with reasonable expectations. They don;t get mad or frustrated when you ask questions or don't understand something. They'd rather you ask questions and get it right the first time.

They understand that the base- level employees understand how to do their job, therefore they give us an appropriate amount of space.

Review from Sales Dept

Shift supervisors are very down to Earth and helpful. Any and all questions I have for them are answered in terms that are most helpful to me.

What does the leadership team need to get better at?

I am part of the leadership team and i cannot give clear direction or support to my team because priorities are always shifting or corporate lists everything as the top priority. So disorganized.

truly understanding the employees and working around their life outside of work

The Lgbtq+ tolerance and behavior

Being more nice and responsive

Review from Marketing Dept

The store manager is an incompetent child that wouldn’t know how to merchandise if his life depended on it. They fired anyone with any sort of experience and have never been able to bounce back from

Review from Sales Dept

Being honest and not blaming their faults on their employees. Also, not stealing from the store, not lying to Human Resources and overall not being terrible managers.

Review from Marketing Dept

Recognizing the merits of individual employees, rather than taking a one size fits all approach with their work.

Review from Customer Support Dept

They play favorites, have attitudes. Everyone should be treated the same.

Review from Customer Support Dept

They take advantage of part time workers. They often schedule them 30-40 hours every weeks, so you're basically working full time without the benefits that the full time workers receive.

Review from Sales Dept

Helping and inspiring employees to help customers

I just think that a lot of the executives on the leadership don't have any idea about what is going on at individual stores.

Review from Sales Dept

Leadership needs to get better at understanding life is unpredictable and not everything is in our control.

Review from Customer Support Dept

Placing value on the efforts of lower level team members. Employees who feel respect and appreciation exhibit a stronger will and desire to succeed and provide a productive and positive service for their employer.

Review from Sales Dept

Not scheduling part time employees for full time hours.
