Executive Bio

Mr. Ronald A. Robins, Jr., also known as Rocky, has been a Senior Vice President, Corporate Secretary and General Counsel at Big Lots, Inc. since May 2015. Mr. Robins served as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Abercrombie & Fitch Co. from August 12, 2010 to August 30, 2013 and its Chief Compliance Officer until August 30, 2013. Mr. Robins was a Partner at Vorys Sater Seymour & Pease. (also known as Vorys, Sater, Seymour and Pease LLP) for 13 years, where he served for 16 years. Mr. Robins focused on general corporate law as well as federal securities law, mergers and acquisition and venture capital. He is actively involved in local community where he serves on the Board of Trustees of BalletMet, the Columbus School for Girls and Jewish Family Services. He clerked for the Honorable Milton Pollack of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York from 1989 to 1990, during the time that Judge Pollack presided over the civil proceedings against Drexel Burnham, Michael Milken and Ivan Boesky as well as over other securities-related matters. Following his clerkship, Mr. Robins practiced for several years as an associate at Davis Polk & Wardwell in New York City before returning to his hometown, Columbus, in 1993. He has significant experience in the commercial lending area and extensive experience in the mergers and acquisitions, venture capital and securities areas. In particular, Mr. Robins has been involved, on behalf of both underwriters and issuers, in many initial public offerings, shelf registrations and debt and equity financings and regularly represents several of Vorys' public company clients, including The Scotts Company, M/I Schottenstein Homes, AirNet Systems, Big Lots Inc., Abercrombie & Fitch, Worthington Industries and Wendy's, in securities and M&A transactions. Mr. Robins is admitted to practice in Ohio and New York and is a member of the Columbus Bar Association. Mr. Robins received his J.D. cum laude from Harvard Law School and his B.A. summa cum laude from Duke University.
