What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Asynchronous methods, used appropriately, allow more flexibility in choosing which hours in the day I perform my solo work. It also reduces unnecessary synchronous meetings, allowing more energy to go into productive meetings or solo work.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Our team is collaborative and practices Radical Candor: providing positive and negative feedback in a respectful way. Team leadership expresses the importance of quality outcomes/deliverables and work-life balance. I have autonomy to experiment and figure out ways to improve my projects.
What makes you most happy at work?
The function of my job is well aligned with my skills and preferences. My direct manager and department head are supportive: doing whatever they can to clear obstacles and provide a psychologically safe environment. Executive leadership promotes various Employee Resource Groups, speaking at events.
