Sustainability and Corporate Social Responsibility at BRILLIO
Brillio is becoming Carbon Neutral by building efficiency measures in-house and supporting carbon reduction environment projects to offset unavoidable emissions. We start on year-on-year neutrality this year and put in systems to enhance our internal reduction strategies and look at a cost-benefit analysis of external clean energy sources that could directly impact our scope two emissions. That remains a high priority.
We have internally developed Brillio Carbon Calculator using Microsoft Cloud SharePoint to collect data and measure our emissions. We aim to address the global climate crisis by embedding systems and resources that could help us set up internal carbon prices, science-based targets and work towards a long-term net-zero plan.
We have embedded the culture of ‘Act Responsible and Think Sustainable’ through our environmental sustainability initiative called GREEN SMILES that focuses on reducing carbon emissions across all our locations. Due to sustained efforts, energy consumption reduces every year. In 2019, Brillio’s energy consumption was reduced by 13.2 per cent, and in 2020, it got reduced by 90 per cent. Brillio aims to become a carbon-neutral company by 2025.
We have internally developed Brillio Green Smiles Calculator to collect data that measures emissions. Also started a Food Waste Awareness Program, where Brillio provides solutions to employee’s children to avoid food waste at home and school. This initiative is currently running across Citizens School, in the Bay Area, and schools in India.
Bringing Smiles is one of Brillio’s greatest achievements. In just a few years, we have engaged over 60,000 young minds across 400 schools and clocked in over 20,000 volunteering hours. One student at a time, we are changing thousands of lives by inspiring these students on what they can achieve in our digital world through digital learning, interactive self-learning and active skills sharing. Today, we are proud to have over 70% of our company actively participating in Bringing Smiles, and together, we will hit our goal reaching 100,000 children in 2020.
