Executive Bio

Mr. Jason Holton has been Senior Vice President of Talent Acquisition at City Year, Inc. since March 23, 2017. Mr. Holton leads the recruitment efforts for the entire organization for both staff and corps. He served as the leader of City Year Milwaukee in his role of Vice President & Executive Director. In this role, he served as the primary leader, internal manager, strategist, external champion and builder of the Milwaukee site. He began his work in Milwaukee, the city he continues to call home and where his family has been deeply rooted for multiple generations, in 2009 when he founded the City Year Milwaukee site alongside champions and stakeholders in the city. His career with City Year, however, began in 2005 as the National Recruitment Systems Manager. In 2006, he was promoted to National Recruitment Director overseeing the product & process development for the City Year network recruitment function. He then led the City Year Washington, D.C. Program and Service department as the Deputy Director. During his time in Washington, DC, he was accepted into the competitive inaugural class of LEAD City Year, an internal program aimed to sustain a culture of continuous talent investment aimed at accelerating the organization's growth and cultivating future site leadership. He serves as a Board Member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Foundation of SE Wisconsin and FUEL Milwaukee. He serves as a Board Member on the boards of University School of Milwaukee, We Grow Greens and the advisory board for Public Allies Milwaukee. He holds BA from Lake Forest College where he studied History and African American Studies. He is a graduate of LeadBoston.
