A culture created less by what we do and more by who we are. When people are asked to describe the team, the answer is always the same: smart, cool, dependable and visionary.
How employees describe working at Cornerstone OnDemand
Cornerstone is the most amazing company I've working at. People are smart, accessible and grateful. Everything is put in place for employees to succeed.
Review from Sales Dept
Good experience. The culture has drastically changed since Saba acquisition. Saba folks are still working in silos and not open to collaboration. It's a difficult phase but happy to have good immediate upper management which keeps me focussed.
Review from IT Dept
Work with people from different areas in the world is great experience. Working with software that helps people with learning is also kind of a mission for me :)
Review from IT Dept
Self-driven, self-motivated group of individuals. Highly committed to the cause.
Review from Engineering Dept
The company is making too many changes all at once. There's no time to process all of it.

Top Employee Response
Excellent. They build relaxation and stress releasing activity into the calendar. If you are lucky enough to be at SaMo head office, the facilities further expand to include onsite yoga, relaxation pods and a 80s/90s game room.
Work/life balance is amazing! The company has a culture of "as long as you get your work done", so many developers work from home some days.
excellent
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation at Cornerstone OnDemand?
Top Employee Response
There seems to be blatant favoritism regarding promotions or switching teams. Managers pick favorites rather than promote who deserve it.
I feel undervalued because my manager overlooks my work and takes credit for my work. I can't get promoted b/c of the CEO's performance plan
Santa Monica is an expensive geography. We should be thoughtful of this and provide effective financial mitigation.
What do people at Cornerstone OnDemand think about the CEO? What do they do well and what can they improve?
Adam is very popular. He communicates well, honestly and often with his employees. He rethinks strategies in response to not just the market for products, but also the market for talent. This is his company and he cares about it, it's products and his employees.
amazing, visionary, caring, well spoken, leader
Innovator who is ahead of the curve and has good vision...even if the company overpromises and over-pivots at times
Does Cornerstone sponsor employee education for managers, especially product managers? In what ways?
Absolutely. Cornerstone is dedicated to providing training to all employees, in various roles and at all levels. This is the core of their message to their clients and they live it every day with their own employees. Flexible schedules are an awesome perk, however people abuse this and don't even work 8 hours.
The company culture is the best, but you give up pay, time with you family, and career growth.
A great friendly cool environment.

The company is growing! I'm excited about where it is going.
talent mobility and development
The team, the culture and the vision
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Cornerstone OnDemand?
Cornerstone is growing up. It is changing from a 'typical' silicone valley company and beginning to take more mature views on certain things. I hope that in doing so it will keep enough of what made it special, while acknowledging the need for a more corporate attitude as it grows.
Maybe a nap room? Everything is pretty great here though.
Wouldn't change it
Can i keep my beard? Or is that not a good idea?
Top Employee Response
Beards are fine. Blue hair is fine. Tattoos are fine. Just do good work!
Cornerstone has no official beard policy.
Wow, NO ONE cares if you have a beard. It's a complete non-issue.
How would you describe your overall experience interviewing at Cornerstone OnDemand?
It was great! Was also lengthy but that spoke to the importance of hiring for the right fit. I was impressed with the variety of people I interviewed with and got to know.
Can be disorganized and inconsistent. Again, a bit a luck of the draw in who you meet with and how they assess you
What's the Product team like at Cornerstone OnDemand?
Awesome team. People generally get along and either are great at their job or want to improve.
Good team culture. For many, this is their first job in Product Management, but everyone comes from an interesting variety of backgrounds.
How's the leadership on the Product team at Cornerstone OnDemand?
Great. Very good at what they do and they don't micro manage
They’ve never had any product management experience outside of the company. Take that how you will.
What interview questions does Cornerstone OnDemand ask?
Previous experience, some basic algorithms, data structure
They want to find out what kind of person you are. Personallity and culture is more important than ages of experience
What are your coworkers at Cornerstone OnDemand like?
Top Employee Response
coworkers are amazing! Everyone is smart and driven, but also cool. I would definitely grab a beer with anyone in the company, but I can also rely on that same person if I need something to get done.
The very best I ever had! Great team spirit, great minds, great international and open minded culture!
What's the interview process like at Cornerstone OnDemand?
Top Employee Response
Several live and phone interviews with different people, depending on the job role, including IT solution demos and presentations. The interview process includes HireRight, a research agency for jobs and salary. It is quite questionable, how deep they dig and if all is in accordance with data protection rules.
The interview process is pretty long. The first contact is with someone on the Talent Management team (HR) who goes over the position and team as well as the company (typical first contact call). Then your resume is forwarded to the team who will look at it and call you if they're interested. This usually means going over your skills and doing some basic programming tests over the phone (just basic things). If you pass that, they ask you to come in and everyone from the team will interview you. There's whiteboarding, personality questions, etc. Nothing too crazy, but pretty deep.
do they buy you dinner if you stay late?
Top Employee Response
Yes! Tons of food at CSOD
This practice is only allowed for some teams that need to stay on site for a task. Other teams have the flexibility to work from home so it's less acceptable to buy them dinner.
How much job security do you have in ur role?
Top Employee Response
A lot.
None. The finance department has almost a 25% turnover rate because it's literally the worst place I've ever worked. The roles which are secure are the ones which are asked to go through an ungodly amount of volume.
What does the leadership team at Cornerstone OnDemand need to get better at?
Top Employee Response
Hire middle managers with experience and that aren't people who have worked there for years. They aren't equipped to be in their positions
Better long term vision and goals. Priorities seem to change often based on quarterly results without much thought for long term goals
What's going wrong and how can it be improved at Cornerstone OnDemand?
Turnover has been high as of late within certain finance departments. This leaves a bleak outlook for the remaining employees.
I love my job but I don't know if anyone is ever really excited to go to work unless they are doing what they are passionate about.
How helpful was your Sales team when you were first hired at Cornerstone OnDemand?
the best, very helpful!
