It's mostly situational questions like what would you do if?
Very close to the same questions they give warehouse employees. Their mantra is "If its good enough for the warehouse its good enough for us[IT folks]."
It's all situational stuff. What would you do if there was a difficult member or how would you handle yourself and then explain why you did those things to resolve the problem.
How hard is it to get promoted at Costco?
That all depends on the individual managers. Just doing a great job doesn't mean anything to some managers but others are great at seeing those that do a great job and just straight out favouritism.

Our focus on doing the right thing for both member and employee.
Nothing, I hate it, but benefits. Costco has no leadership standards. It's all people looking out for themselves bossing people around
What is the best advice you could give someone during their first month at Costco?
Be eager to learn anything! Volunteer at different departments and show an interest to learn new jobs and take on any task with a can do attitude. Also helps to show up on time everyday!

Just an average person
To sum it up you should be friendly with an overt sense of urgency and a team focused attitude. You should also have patience.. alot of it.. you're going to need it to deal with your supervisors, managers, and over-entitled members.

We have retaliation at our building
You can always tall to a manager as there are always 2 on duty at any given time or call the home office and you will talk to them with in 24 hours

No outtings
There aren't very many but it's mostly drinking.

Driven
Only the hardworkers and people who put the effort in. Those who take it as just a paycheck or something to do will not move higher up with the company

It depends. I've seen warehouses that have good synergy and I've seen others where morale is at all time lows. It depends on how lucky you get with your management at the location.
Usually pretty high and upbeat. Especially in the morning around 430am to about 130pm

I'd be trapped
That they will eventually own you and you life will start to resolve around your schedule

Thr home office in WA. Is a large office building as the i side the wharehouses its usually a larger room with some desks and not so private cubicals

All the employees at Costco respects each other

What's the vibe like in the Sales dept at Costco? How many hours are you working?
It can’t be tense at times but I try to keep everybody laughing I work 40 hours a week
Fulltime gets guaranteed 36 hours weekly as part time is 24.5 hours
What's the pay like for Sales roles at Costco?
I can’t answer that there are different levels
Starting is 13 currently in all departments unless you have a specialty *meat cutter, cake decorator,tire installer.*

Not everyday is the same. New challenges and problems daily but it makes it feel like you're not just doing the same exact thing
I feel like I just a piece of equipment to them and they couldn't care less about me. I'm just a number to them.
What's the company culture like at Costco?
The company handbook extols one culture, while management fosters a very different one. If you're a hard worker they will ride you as far as they can. If you're a slacker, you'll just get by and nothing will ever be expected of you.
Cult Like. If you stroke the right person's ego for long enough you have a fair chance of being fast tracked but then you are stuck under them forever. If you dont stroke leadership's egos then you are blacklisted.
