I was written up for leaving after my duties were done. I was asked if I wanted to help the other employees and usually I do but my sciatica was hurting. My boss texted me that I was written up for leaving and I feel discriminated against.
What makes you most happy at work?
When a guest says how much they enjoy their stay and how clean their room was.
What did you like most about the interview process?
I enjoyed being able to be interviewed by the head housekeeper. They are very efficient as far as interviewing.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
I enjoy stocking the carts and rooms at night because I know it means a lot to the day housekeepers.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
They do not take advice from team members and fire people when they say what needs to change. Our boss calls our constructive criticism “complaining
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
They need to stop taking breaks as frequently as they do and help out with simple duties around the hotel rather than sitting around and talking. Simple tasks include stocking rooms, taking trash out, cleaning bathrooms.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I work very hard and cover several shifts. I applied for nighttime manager because I know how to do every job at the hotel and I am very dedicated to my job. I would like better pay and a chance to be nighttime manager.
