Ames B. Flynn — Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President at Extended Stay America

Mr. Ames B. Flynn has been Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President of Extended Stay America, Inc. since August 2013. Mr. Flynn served as the Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President of Information Technology at Rent-A-Center, Inc., from 2012 to 2013. From 2011 to 2012, he served as Vice-President, Digital Strategy and IT Business Solutions at Michaels Stores. Mr. Flynn served as Chief Information Officer and Vice President of Logistics at FBI Wind Down, Inc., since September 2, 2004. From 1996 to 2004, he held various positions with Furniture Brands International, including Chief Information Officer and Vice-President, Customer Service, Contract/International Services and eBusiness. Prior to joining Thomasville in 1996, he spent his career with Food Lion Inc. in roles of increasing responsibility in systems services and business process re-engineering. From 2009 to 2011 and 1988 to 1996, he held various positions with retail grocer Delhaize America, including Director, Systems Services and Store Development. From 2004 to 2008, he held various positions with Lowe's Home Improvement, including Vice-President eCommerce, Special Order Sales and Administration. Mr. Flynn has served on the Boards of the Rowan County United Way, Salisbury Academy, American Furniture Manufacturers Association and Dallas CIO Executive Council. Mr. Flynn has both a Bachelors degree and a Masters in Business Administration from Wake Forest University.
