Mr. James G. Alderman, Jr., also known as Jim, has been Chief Asset Merchant and Executive Vice President of Extended Stay America, Inc. since November 07, 2016. Mr. Alderman serves as an Executive Vice President and Chief Asset Merchant at ESH Hospitality, Inc. He served as the Chief Development Officer of Kimpton Hotel & Restaurant Group, LLC. Mr. Alderman served as Senior Vice President of Acquisitions & Development at Kimpton Hotel & Restaurant Group, LLC. Mr. Alderman served as an Executive Vice President of Stay Well Rooms at Delos Living, LLC. Mr. Alderman was the Principal and served as Chief Investment Officer at Access Point Financial, Inc. He joined Access Point Financial in March 19, 2012. Prior to Access Pont Financial, Mr. Alderman served as an Executive Vice President of Hotel Development and Asset Management at Starwood Capital Group. He served as an Executive Vice President of Development and Global Head of Development at Wyndham Hotel Group, LLC since March 2009. At Wyndham, he structured co-brand joint ventures with Planet Hollywood and Dream Hotels and acquired the TRYP brand from Melia, creating TRYP by Wyndham and establishing a new growth vehicle for Wyndham. He held executive positions with Starwood Hotels & Resorts Worldwide Inc. He has almost 30 years of hospitality as well as general real estate experience. During his career, he has been a Principal, Senior Executive and Consultant on real estate projects throughout the World with a focus for the last 19 years in hospitality strategy, finance and development. Throughout his career, he has been involved in the acquisition, development, joint venture and financing of over $5 Billion of real estate projects on a global basis. He has helped guide the strategy and branding of hundreds of hotel projects from independent boutiques through ultra-luxury. Mr. Alderman served as Senior Vice President of Acquisitions and Development of Kimpton Hotel & Restaurant Group, LLC since 2005. He served as a development executive with Holiday Inn Worldwide. Mr. Alderman was a Senior Vice President of Development, North America at Starwood Hotels since 1999. In this position, he directed management contract and franchise development throughout the United States, Canada and the Caribbean for Starwood Hotel's St. Regis, Sheraton, Westin, Luxury Collection and Four Points by Sheraton brands. Mr. Alderman also contributed to Starwood Hotel's growth of the W brand with the Dallas, Fort Lauderdale and South Beach properties. He expanded the St. Regis brand with mixed use developments in Fort Lauderdale and Park City. He has guided Westin Hotels to a dominant position in the market as well as spearheading a wider footprint of the St. Regis and Luxury Collection brands. Before Starwood Hotels, Mr. Alderman helped to grow Bristol Hotels and Resorts into the largest independent owner/operator of hotels in the U.S. where he served as a Vice President of Acquisitions and Development and acquired 27 hotels in two years. Mr. Alderman has also held development positions with Holiday Inn Worldwide, Ernst & Young and various positions in general real estate consulting. He managed the Valuation and Consulting practice for Ernst & Young in the Southeastern U.S.; worked as a Commercial Real Estate Appraiser for Blake and Associates; and held a Principal position in a hospitality focused lending platform. He served as a Director of Real Estate with IHG managing the capital investment process and helping to grow IHG through strategic acquisitions as well as structuring a tax-free spin of the bulk of IHG's North American portfolio to Bristol Hotels and eventually into the Felcor REIT. He holds a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Real Estate from Florida State University and is an Executive Board Member for The Center of Real Estate Education and Research at Florida State University.
