Mr. Thai-Tang Hau has been an Executive Vice President of Product Development and Purchasing at Ford Motor Company since June 1, 2017. Mr. Hau served as Group Vice President of Global Purchasing at Ford Motor Company since August 01, 2013 until June 1, 2017. Mr. Hau served as Vice President of Engineering for Global Product Development at Ford Motor Company until August 01, 2013. In this capacity, he directed all global engineering for car, truck, SUV and crossover vehicles for the Ford and Lincoln brands in support of the One Ford plan. He served as an Executive Director of Global Product Programs at Ford Motor Company since January 1, 2011. Previously, he served as the Head of Ford Brazil at Ford Motor Company until December 31, 2010. He served as Director of Product Development - Ford South America Operations at Ford Motor Company until December 31, 2010 (four years). Based in Brazil, he oversaw the development of new products for value markets and led the emergence of FSAO as a global product development center. He served as Director of Advanced Product Creation and Special Vehicle Team (SVT) at Ford Motor Company since December 01, 2004. He led the delivery of Ford's mainstream and high performance products from conception to launch across all regions. He served as Chief Nameplate Engineer for the 2005 Ford Mustang and led the development and launch of the 2001 Mustang GT, Mustang Cobra and Bullitt Mustang GT models. He was the vehicle dynamics supervisor and vehicle engineering manager for the 2000 LS. His experience also includes an assignment in Germany, as well as working with Ford Racing. He joined Ford in 1988 as a Ford College Graduate trainee. He served as the chief engineer for the Mustang program, leading the design, development and launch of the 2005 model year Mustang. An avid car enthusiast, he was a race engineer for Nigel Mansell and Mario Andretti on Ford's Newman-Haas IndyCar team in 1993. His efforts contributed to six victories, 11 podium finishes and the overall driver's and manufacturer's championships. In 2001, the Automotive Hall of Fame awarded him as the Young Leadership and Excellence Award. He was also named Asian Executive of the Year by On Wheels Inc. in 2006. He was named Purchasing Executive of the Year by Automotive Supply Chain Magazine. Mr. Hau graduated in 1988 from Carnegie Mellon University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. In 1993, he earned a master of business administration degree with distinction from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.
