  • We are still employee owned, but it getting increasingly more corporate with increased employee benefit cuts as time goes by. There is no incentive to profesional development ( I.e no benefit or reimbursement for passing the PE, no travel compensation, etc). On the other hand, the cuts make for a higher profit for share owners.

  • It depends what office you work for. If you are in a larger office, and there is a need for it, you can switch departments. However, if you work in a smaller office, people often wear multiple hats, so you have a chance to work in different kinds of projects. Now, we are organized by sectors (i.e. mining, urban development, oil & gas, etc), and there are teams of people with skill sets that cater to that particular market. In that case, it might be a bit more cumbersome as your particular skills might not be a good fit for that team.
