In Property Management, we require resident's to make 3x the monthly rent. As a Leasing Professional, I don't even make enough to live at the property I work at. That is a huge red flag to me. Overtime isn't allowed and having holidays off aren't always true.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
I don't know anyone from Leadership besides my own property managers so that's hard to say.
What needs to change to make the company culture better?
I just don't feel like I have a place to let someone know about onsite Managers that is anonymous. Pay also needs to improve. Like I mentioned, my income here doesn't even qualify me to live at the place I work.
What makes you most happy at work?
Helping people and making residents feel like you care. In my experience, many onsite staff seem to work as if they are against their residents. It should work like a hotel in that we are here to serve our residents. Not argue with them. Many don't understand that.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
In Property Management, we require resident's to make 3x the monthly rent. As a Leasing Professional, I don't even make enough to live at the property I work at. Overtime isn't allowed and weekends are required. I wish weekend pay was higher than weekdays as well. Working Christmas Eve is wrong.
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
My PM is understanding and kind, but I often do work my managers don't do while I'm off but I do it for them when they're off. My AM is rude and often makes situations with residents worse. He often uses inappropriate language and I don't know where to report while remaining anonymous.
