Medical coverage could be better

Bonus program is only to upper management. if you're not in that group it's all about your base salary.
Review from IT Dept
They pay a comparable wage
Review from Customer Support Dept
It provides well for my family for the amount of responsibility I have.
The harder I work the more I make and grow our company.
The comprehensive benefits package, including paid time off to work in the community are excellent.
Quarterly incentives are a great way to collaborate across the organization and receive an extra bonus for efforts that help improve processes and outcomes.
Review from Marketing Dept
Better than nothing. Better than working at McDonald's.
Review from Communications Dept
I like that they have reimbursement programs for cell phone, internet, etc.
Review from Communications Dept
Encouraged work life balance and flexibility for PTO. Great pay/commission structure.
Review from Sales Dept
Benefits are very reasonably priced. We have alot of other unexpected benefits as well, such as reimbursement for gyms and for tech, such as home internet & cell phone plans.
Review from Communications Dept
The PIP goal gives the potential for a quarterly bonus is a good incentive.
Review from Finance Dept
I'm grateful to have health benefits but the out of pockets costs (deductibles, co-insurance) for regular appointments are outrageous.
Review from Operations Dept
My insurance is great, the deductible is a bit high but my contribution to my HSA balances that.
Review from Executive Dept
My income is far above the national standards.
Review from IT Dept
Uncapped commission for sales people
Review from Sales Dept
Fair salary, good benefits. Not a lot of PTO.
Review from Product Dept
Comprehensive suite of optional offerings. investment matching even in tough times.
Review from Customer Support Dept
Probably the salary, care, gifts
Review from Engineering Dept
Middle management is often uninformed and seemingly uncaring about what truly would make our customers more satisfied and effective. No visible effort is made to keep pace with average industry salaries, let alone inflation.
The base salary is severly low for tenured sales professionals.
compensation-wise, please pay us what recruiters are dangling in front of us
Review from Product Dept
The pay is below market.
Review from IT Dept
While working at HealthStream, due to my efforts outside of work, I grew my skills faster than my compensation grew with me.
I think the base salary is low for a salesperson in Nashville (high cost of living) with 7+ years experience. I wish there was more than one healthcare plan.
The pay is low, benefits aren't great, and turnover rate is very high with young people. The company doesn't seem to realize that in a society where start up companies are paying well with great perks, you can't keep the next generation of tech workers by compensating them with bare bones pay.
HealthStream is below it's competitors in compensation pretty much across the board though I can't speak for the executives. The base salaries do not match the cost of living for their locations and salespeople do not even receive cost pf living increases.
Review from Sales Dept
Other priorities are consistently put before employees feedback and there is no career roadmapping. I would feel better about my compensation if my leadership team was more responsive that they understood my job, that I'm looking to be promoted and would communicate what opportunities are possible.
Review from Customer Support Dept
Our salaries are in general are lower than what other companies would pay. It’s frustrating, especially when you know that
Review from Sales Dept
A market adjustment for current employees. Or at least getting cost of living increases separate from performance increases. Candidates should know if hired into a strong team their max increase will be 3% bc managers have to reduce one person's increase to give another person more.
Review from Product Dept
I think as a tenured salesperson, the base is very low compared to similar companies. I think the base plus commission should be more in line with similar jobs.
Review from Sales Dept
Base salary and at plan commissions not commensurate with sales efforts, work life balance, and industry standard.
Review from Sales Dept
Fair compensation and health benefits that are less like penalties.
Compensation is not at market value given the number of direct reports, products supported and my responsibilities compared to others in the same role.
Review from Customer Support Dept
This company offers a low base salary for a senior salesperson. That was fine when the commission structure was more generous. With commisions dropping to half of what they were in 2019 and no rise in base I feel they put the security of their sales team in jeopardy and increased turnover risk.
Review from Sales Dept
Our base salaries and commission rates are not in line with industry averages (Sales). I think we are paid well compared to others in HSTM, and that seems to be the way that the executive committee views how Sales is compensated.
Review from Sales Dept
HS has an opportunity to be more competitive with compensation based on over 20 years of growth and the dedication of our employees.
Review from IT Dept
I would feel better if I were compensated based on the value I bring to my team. I was promoted and given a small increase due to my length of service-not value.
Review from Product Dept
Healthstream pays way under the market rate for highly skilled positions. There is constant turnover because they don't offer competitive salaries, which leads to a lot of knowledge lost every time a good employee leaves. This probably costs the company more in the long run.
