HealthStream Environment Employee Reviews

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

The people and knowing that we are doing is helping make healthcare better and safer.

The most positive part about our culture is family first. That is always the first response if something comes up, no matter their ranking in position.

Review from Customer Support Dept

Everyone has great enthusiasm and is happy to come to work

Review from Customer Support Dept

Everyone is helpful and encouraging. I would say it is sometimes too positive as groups are not open to constructive criticism.

The shared knowledge, experience and resources make me more effective in my role.

The culture and people interaction always have a positive vibe.

Review from Marketing Dept

The people are extremely positive.

People are genuine and they care about you both at work, and outside of work.

Review from Communications Dept

Everyone is so nice and seems to genuinely care about you and the work you're doing.

HealthStream focuses itself on its own Constitution, filled with core values that positively affect each and every person. What stands out to me is that every employee at HealthStream takes great care to create a positive culture through implementing these values on a day-to-day basis.

Review from Product Dept

Company do healthcare and do care people

Review from Engineering Dept

It is a culture centered around it's employees and their continued growth and development both professionally and personally.

Review from Sales Dept

The buildings themselves are pretty great. They all have a new feel and are conducive for getting work done. The culture is one of collaboration and positive competition.

Review from Sales Dept

People are genuine and also a little bit nerdy! You can strike up a conversation with anybody about anything and they genuinely will listen! It's also a great learning space. Failure is not seen as failure, but as a learning opportunity, so people feel at ease in trying new things.

Review from Communications Dept

The love for learning and growing as individuals and as a company.

Review from Customer Support Dept

The mission statement that we are all helping to improve the quality of healthcare by developing those that deliver care. Makes you feel like you're contributing to society not just punching a clock.

Review from Product Dept

I wish there was another option. I think the work environment is part positive and part negative.

Review from Sales Dept

The security of a strong financial backing, yet it feels like a small family run company.

Review from Sales Dept

Everyone is friendly, and I like that everyone seems to be highly motivated and self starting.

Regular positive feedback is the best thing about working here.

Review from IT Dept

What needs to change to make the company culture better?

Invest in people. This is not the same company it was before the pandemic. Most of your workforce knows nothing about what the company used to be. We need training. We need stability. We need support.

Review from Product Dept

Leaders are against leaders and leaders are pitting staff against one another in the name of friendly competition and productivity. We're aren't in this together. Thankfully, there are individuals who are bringing life to those struggling for hope in their careers. Those are the real leaders.

The fish is not rotting from the head at HealthStream. However, there is a disease that has yet to be diagnosed that's killing culture. Examine the trunk (torso) of the fish and you may find what's causing our ailments. It's sad to observe and I can't find a doctor (leader) I trust to talk to.

Improve the mid and senior level management. Do not promote people into management positions that are not good at management.

Review from IT Dept

We have a lot of good, open-minded men in both middle and upper management. But I want to see more non-white, non-male, non-traditional individuals in leadership. I have some reservations about management and frankly I don’t feel that I would be heard but not understood if I voiced them.

Make employees' growth a much higher priority and invest in your people. Any communication is vague and there isn't any accountability, timelines, or effective planning along with any transparency.

Review from Customer Support Dept

The company should offer more professional growth/development options to all employees. It is important to know that tenure does not always translate to effective management skills. Also, it is important to improve communication between managers and employees regarding expectations.

Review from Finance Dept

I'd like the VerityStream leadership team be more approachable. I'd also like to see improved communication, sharing of internal processes and product knowledge clearly communicated and shared across the organization and across offices.

Review from Customer Support Dept

All of the teams within Healthstream are too siloed. The teams do not collaborate together.

Review from IT Dept

My position required more privacy, which is at a minimum in the new building. The new building is lovely, but a good amount of time is spent on finding meeting rooms to talk confidentially.

Review from Operations Dept

Management needs to treat all employees fairly and not have favorites. There needs to be clear expectations.

Review from Customer Support Dept

Verity Stream needs to have a focus on ensuring the teams and resources have transparency into the goals of leadership. Often, there are comments made by leadership which seem to indicate they are out of touch with reality of the average employee.
