Ms. Jennifer R. Boykin has been Executive Vice President & President of Newport News Shipbuilding Division at Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. since July 1, 2017. Ms. Boykin served as Vice President of Engineering and Design for Newport News Shipbuilding Division at Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. since 2012. Ms. Boykin served as Vice President of Quality and Process Excellence for Shipbuilding at Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding, Inc. She was responsible for the formulation, management and oversight of the quality and process excellence programs, policies, goals and objectives. She served as Sector Vice President of Process Excellence at Northrop Grumman Shipbuilding, Inc. from 2004 to February 2009 and served as its Vice President of process excellence division. She served as Vice President of Process Excellence Division for Northrop Grumman Newport News Sector of Northrop Grumman Corp. since November 1, 2004. She was responsible for strengthening sector-wide performance in all aspects of shipbuilding by driving continuous improvements and standardizations in all areas. She develop and Implement a more comprehensive and focused approach to continuous improvement, identify and reduce waste and improve the efficiency of cross-functional processes. Ms. Boykin served as Director of Facilities and waterfront support with responsibility for facilities engineering, construction and the maintenance of company buildings, equipment and service throughout the 550-acre Newport News facility. She joined Northrop Grumman Corp. in 1987 in the nuclear engineering department and has held progressively responsible positions, including senior nuclear engineer, program manager for the nuclear engineering division and construction superintendent for the aircraft carrier program during construction of the USS John C. Stennis and USS Harry S. Truman. Ms. Boykin is also a graduate of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce leadership program and was recognized as an Outstanding Woman of the Peninsula by Girls, Inc., of the Greater Peninsula. Ms. Boykin earned a Bachelor's Degree in Marine Engineering from the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy and a masters degree in engineering management from The George Washington University.
