Michael S. Smith — Executive Vice President of Strategy and Development at Huntington Ingalls Industries

Mr. Michael S. Smith, also known Mike, has been Executive Vice President of Strategy and Development at Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc since March 2016 and served as its Corporate Vice President of Strategy and Development since March 1, 2016 until July 25, 2016. Mr. Smith served as Vice President of Corporate Development, Nuclear & Environmental Services at Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. since January 16, 2015 until March 1st 2016. He led the Business Planning & Development (BPD) Group at BAE Systems Land & Armaments, Ground Systems (GS) as Group Director since November 2006, with responsibility for the Division's mergers and acquisitions strategy, planning and execution, business development (BD) and intelligence and competition management. He is infusing BAE Systems' (and industry) best practices. Since 2006, he has been a Director of BPD. He served as a Director of Firefly Energy Inc. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering and a Master's degree in Engineering Management, both from Stanford University.
