It's just about the money.
My team has largely been pared down to the point that most everyone we have is driven to succeed and doesn't need much extra motivation to give a good effort. We also have a good time.
Whether the company can afford merit increases or not, they should do COLA increases every year to account for inflation. If you can't afford to do that, you can't afford to run a business. Like tipping for a meal.
For those of us who have been with the company for more than five years, there is a real sense of having been in the trenches and seen the company grow. We've each been in many different roles and understand the business from the ground up and we're proud.
