Macy's Interviews Employee Reviews

What did you like most about the interview process?

They stick to a script

I liked being judged by how well i spoke English. The better you are at speaking English, the better position you get. Almost all dock workers speak less than minimum English

Friendly and professional and detailed questions.

Meeting new people in the business

I was interview 25 yr s ago, by a direct manager that I was going to work for. Now they are doing phone interviews, hiring thru that process.

The ability to communicate at same level

Fast to the point and done

It was a job fair they hired me on the spot

The interview process was straightforward and thorough.

Learning about my brand and the company.

Review from Sales Dept

Like the way they work together

Review from Design Dept

The computerized paperwork process was great.

Questions that were asked me

Review from Sales Dept

It was over the phone

The people I met when I initially interviewed were nice and welcoming. It wasn't until we were all behind closed doors that the things said were shown to be extremely inappropriate and tear down who you are as a person. As well as a disregard for any employee mental health.

If you have a pulse they will hire you.

My application was imediately responded to and I was at a register 2 days later!

I haven’t interviewed for 7 years so I do not k ow the current but I can’t believe some of the workers who have been h

Open communication, and genuine interest in the person interviewed.

People very friendly and encouraging

What would you improve about your company's interview process?

To really make an effort to evaluate candidates without prejudice.

Train the new employees longer and more effectintely. Don't just throw them on the Sales Floor during busy hours. Train them 2 weeks prior to and after they're hired at Macy's.

No word can explain the horror

Better branch explaining I was trained one day and thrown I the floors

super easy thats because HR doesn't care at all. They were annoyed I didn't finish my 8 hours of trainning videos in 2. They trainning is supposed to take 2 whole days and HR has an attitude and is passive aggressive the whole time. New fine jewelry workers have no idea what they doing until 2mo in

The interviewer keeps interrupting and being so unprofessional

Need to be more professional

They should be more honest when hiring new colleagues the interview process has also become very misleading they do not disclose all job responsibilities to candidates, the new employees arrive at work Unprepared and unpleased

The interview process was fine and everyone was very nice and friendly

Review from Sales Dept

The interviewer was rude to me

froendly and patience well educated

Things were not clear. The job posting was not coear. I had hired for a job, after getting hired, it wasent there anymore. My manager said it was computer glitch.

Review from Sales Dept

Hire alreadyand hire againi can stay working

Review from Design Dept

Stop rescheduling to fit their personal agenda

Review from Executive Dept

Screen candidates better and dont just settle on candidates who can merely walk talk.

Review from Operations Dept

The interviewing manager lied about what the job entails

Get to know candidates better and let them ask questions , and overall job roles and expectations

Reduces the question on it

Lose the book. Try no myopic tunnels.
