I'm not sure HR understands my role fully (and updates to my job description/title seem to take way too long). With the trimming of staff and roles not being backfilled, workloads are at a max and responsibilities don't allow for you to be an expert or stay ahead of tasks and be more strategic.

Yes, very undervalued! It' not what you know, it's who you know. Some jobs are offered to people who they like and never posted for everyone to get the chance to apply for. Everyone should be treated the same. Managment should be able to come to production and talk to everyone not just the leads.
