What do you like best about the leadership team?
I love how they really try to help me better myself and point out flaws in my work when they come up. They are kind and always answet any questions I have.
Create real relationships, not everything has to be work.
Our Leadership team has a great mixture of personalities: "By the Book" and "Stern but empathetic."
They are very hands on.
They seem to know what they are doing and are experienced. They aren't too overbearing.
What does the leadership team need to get better at?
needs a new store manager and all new department managers

What is the best part about your compensation package?
I do not know of many companies taht give their employees profit sharing. It is a tremendous gift and I really enjoy the Profit Sharing meeting we have every year.
Part time - there is none - i do appreciate the flexibility is scheduling time off whenever needed

Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
I don't think there should be a test for a ten cent raise.

Living wage+ Responsibility and longevity
The manager takes over any time a customer places an order that would give a team member any type of generous commission. He specifically comes in on his days off to essentially steal from his employees.

What are some of the best things about your team?
They work together they, are always willing to answer any questions anyone may have. They work hard and all seem to like working with each other.

We all come from different backgrounds.
My team works exceptionally hard and even they see how unfairly department heads are treated at our location so much so they have no desire to advance
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
The meetings are sophomoric and childish.
They need to be trained better thats all. However the managers dont train them i had to.

Retrain people how to interact with their employees because the unprofessionalism and cruelty some of us experience on a daily basis makes it impossible to want to do a good job for them.

What did you like most about the interview process?
My HR seemed intetested in what I had to say, let me answer every question and wanted to know if I would be willing to stay long term.
Mine was different than average cause I told them I was going to Home Depot after this to get an appilcation. I was hired on the spot. I've been there two and a half years now. This will probably give me away. I used to be full time until i got cancer.

Potential employees need to know upfront if there will be more than one interview. Orientation needs to be the full length not cut by one and a half hours

What's going wrong and how can it be improved?
General manager not following policy
The Menards Company is behind in almost every area, with outdated products and decor, as well as outdated technology. Systems need to be redone entirely to make it more efficient. Menard's target market is in their 60s or older and unless they update, they won't survive as a company.
To much negative and favoritism and hear say
Process changes. Understanding state and federal laws that protect the employees and then abide by them. Support systems for employees that create a place that people want to work at.
poor general manager training in handling terminations. threatening to call the police does not help
