I'm a member of the LGBTQ+ community. I feel as though I have to keep my head down and not represent my true self when I go to work, for fear of getting judged and/or harassed by customers and fellow employees. As a cis female, I feel as though I get spoken down to a treated as less of a person.
What makes you most happy at work?
It's a decent job with decent pay and close to home. Not a stressful job at all.
What are some of the best things about your team?
We are in an environment in which we can create a fun space for ourselves. That makes the job enjoyable.
What did you like most about the interview process?
I liked that I got to meet the people I would be working closely with at my interview. This process gave me a real feel for the job.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
The employees that make an effort to create a good environment are the positive aspects. We try hard, but there isn't enough of the good ones to make it a positive experience.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
I do believe the pay is good for the work I am doing. I like that I can get paid more for working a weekend shift, making those more desirable. However, my hours, therefore my wages, have been significantly cut recently. A member of the leadership team told me they were trying to get people to quit.
