It's a love/hate relationship. Somedays I absolutely love working here, love my coworkers, and am a proud employee. Other days I feel underpaid, undervalued, and underappreciated. It's the inconsistency of values from department leaders that hurts the core value of our company.
talking to coworkers I like - outside my department
Because I am undervalued. I don't make what I should, and I've compared it to the industry.
I know I am underpaid in my experience, knowledge, and industry. I've done the research, I've brought it up to management and am told that I'm being paid fairly.
I'm constantly educating my coworkers on knowledge that should have been taught to them during basic training when first starting their positions. Information that is vital to their position.
Personably! They actually care about their employees and that's shown through actions. They understand a work life balance is important and without that you cannot work to your full potential.
Training throughout each department, consistent positive attitudes, having consistent support from managers without mood swings, hiring QUALITY and QUALIFIED employees and holding them to the same standards as everyone else.
The level of positivity. When everyone has a positive outlook, it makes the projects and time pass quickly. Negative outlooks and individuals makes it more difficult to get the work done.
The positivity never seems to be consistent. I bring the positive attitude to my department and if I'm stressed/less positive, no one picks up the slack. Management is very negative and unsupportive.
I know I'm underpaid, based on my experience and years within the industry. I've asked HR to reevaluate, but they haven't. You can see it very clear on Glassdoor. At least $10k underpaid.
they could have a better work ethic and want to do the best job they can do. Instead of sitting on their phone looking at tiktok, let's get our jobs done first, please.
Managers need to hold people accountable when they are not doing their job. There's a difference between micromanaging and holding someone accountable. TRAINING! When your trainer/team lead is garbage...don't be surprised when the rest of the team suffers.
I'm not compensated correctly based on my experience within the industry. I know my male counterparts make more money, but I've been at the company and within the industry longer. If I move outside the company, I will get paid what I deserve.
The most people are in the office the more you start to feel that sense of "community". Unfortunately, there are still so many new people and so little interaction outside of the office so it's still a bit difficult to officially meet new employees.
To properly manage a team of individuals, it's important to understand that each member has a different method of how they tackle their work. My direct manager understands that, so she speaks to each person on their level, similar to a mother with multiple children.
Please look at past comments. Strong employees speak up and get nowhere. Weak employees do the job wrong, get things taken away (rewarded), no reprimand, stay employed and get same bonus and merits. And you wonder why we loss so many employees? Does Ashida know this? Doubtful!
Listening to their employees. Holding people accountable when they haven't done their job correctly. Getting rid of an employee who continuously falls short of their job description, to the point where it hurts the rest of their team. Giving us proper, annual raises for those who deserve it!!!!
My manager doesn't hold people accountably therefore bad behavior continues while I continue to work my hardest but am treated the same as those who fall short every day.I know I am paid less than others in my position, in our industry, & with my education and experience.
KINDNESS! Departments bicker with each other like school children and want to place blame instead of finding a solution and moving forward. There's too much negativity - especially coming from CS and QCT. We are one company and one team and we need to start acting like it.
I understand we are facing a recession however I've asked for a salary comparison within our industry many times and it still hasn't been done. I know for my experience and the amount of work I do on a daily basis, I'm still being underpaid - even with benefits.
Some coworkers are awesome to work with, want to pull their weight, and expand their knowledge. Others are here to punch in, get a pay check and that's it. They don't want to learn more, do their job correctly or on time, help meet a KPI for the team, etc.
If we had consistent training within each department (BUs). And if they don't have the knowledge, it shouldn't be an excuse that you don't have training material or too much turnover. Make the manuals and teach it. If they don't know it, they shouldn't touch it. Messes everything up (Masters)
It depends. Sometimes it's just seeing my coworkers or the project I'm currently working on. We currently have a new VP, & as great as he is, he has unrealistic expectations and a passion for meetings however it provides very little time to take action, which has been extremely stressful lately.
It's a mix of both positive and negative. Most days very positive because I like to keep that attitude. But some department heads who've been here 20+ years have a very negative attitude and that's the example they give to the rest of their dept (i.e. Niki in CS - so combative!)
I believe in our CEO's vision and I'd love for my management team to preach the same vision and hold people accountable. Get rid of mediocre employees! They only cause problems and resentment on the team. It's infuriating! This is my last shot. I'll be leaving soon if nothing is done. So upsetting.
Love our benefits, not salary. I'm told I can only get a raise once a year by my manager when I know that's false. Compare within our industry, I know I'm underpaid for my background & experience. Haven't gotten a proper raise since the pandemic started & it's effecting me. Can't 401k contribute.
Some of the team is great. Other's are getting by doing the bare minimum bc our manager doesn't hold them accountable & they get away with it. We complain and nothing is done. Those who work the hardest get the most backlash bc we speak up. It's all backwards. And poor employees still get bonuses.
MOST of my team is great. Hard workers and enjoyable to be around. However, we do have a few who seem to do the bare minimum and seem to coast by and still get a paycheck. It's infuriating and makes me question why I work so hard sometimes if I can do nothing and still get paid.
I would like HR to compare my position and experience within the industry and see if my salary is the average. I've done it myself and it does appear I am underpaid. I work very hard to have the best output in my position and I would like the value I put into my position be reflected in my paycheck.
