I started out as a mid-level engineer from another industry with no direct background or experience in HR or tech. 4 years later, I'm the manager of the team. I've been very fortunately to have the opportunity to grow and to have had mentors that helped me along the way.
What are some of the best things about your team?
I like working with smart people trying to solving hard problems. I like it even more when those people are empathetic and collaborative.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
The paternity leave is very generous and leadership honestly wants you to use. In my experience, they were very supportive and flexible despite challenging scheduling difficulties. Best perk by a mile.
What makes you most happy at work?
My contributions make a real difference, not only to Namely but more importantly to real people. We aren't saving lives but everyone needs a paycheck so it feels nice that we can provide that service in a way that I can feel proud of.
