The CEO doesn’t realize his company would be no where without the developers he has working for him. Instead of bonuses a decent raise would be best.
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Nelnet?
Culture is great, work from Home is amazingly flexible.
What are your coworkers at Nelnet like?
Amazing people, super smart and very fun to be around. While we work hard we also have fun doing it!

One hour if the team interviewing you likes you, if cut off early it’s a sign it’s not going to work out.

Student loans are growing fast from both direct to private. Branching away from student loans is hard.

Two to three interview process.

If your a developer the questions get pretty tech heavy.

Always something new to learn when I walk through the door.

We have individual goals we list with our managers, our bonuses are determined in how we hit those goals as well as our performance at Work.

Superb! It builds up fast, and caps at 320 hours.

We have happy hours, attend avalanche games together, lots of team building happens there.
What's one thing you wish you'd known before joining Nelnet?
On call can be rough at times, but only happens every other month or so.
How's the morale at Nelnet?
Pretty high and happy.
