Everything is extremely fast paced, which isn't always a good thing. I love that we're not constrained by bureaucratic policies, but it also feels like we can be overly ambitious or that we put effort into things that aren't always full baked.
Briefly describe your overall experience at your company
I've learned so much during my time here and I know that is invaluable. However I don't feel like I've been given the opportunities to move throughout the company and I know I'm underpaid as compared to my peers. Ultimately it doesn't feel like the company is doing enough to retain good talent.
What makes you most happy at work?
Seeing the good work we're outputting and how its received externally.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
I love that we're a mission driven company, it's apparent in the environment and the culture.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Everyone is willing to pitch in to get the job done, everyone is pleasant to work with.

Shared interests/working styles. People are also extremely understanding of working parent life which makes a huge difference.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
The commitment to our mission is clear and they seem fully invested in helping us reach our goals.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
For the longest time my team was under resourced which led to a lot of burnout and departure. Things are slowly starting to improve but I still feel like I'm underpaid for the job I'm asked to do in comparison to my peers within the industry.
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Nextdoor is not competitive at all when it comes to base salary. This is not specific just to my experience but others I've spoken to throughout the company. Limited PTO and lack of yearly bonus also feel misses and not in line with what competing companies offer.
