What's the internship program like at Nuance Communications?
There is NO internship program at Nuance.
What skills do you need to be successful in the Sales department at Nuance Communications?
You need to be self motivated and be able to accept the fact that selling is the easy part, the hard part is fighting internal complexities and poor processes.
What's the work from home policy like at Nuance Communications?
Good. However they could supply us with better equipment. Now all we get is a laptop and one extra display. I had to buy my own to get two bigger displays, a keyboard and a mouse. Plus they do not supply and funds for an office chair or desk. That is another $500.00 plus.
Why work for Nuance Communications?
They have just laid off their MLS division. I can't answer about the other divisions. If you are in MLS or Coding, don't apply at Nuance.
How's the morale at Nuance Communications?
Low.
What are the team outings like at Nuance Communications?
No team outings.
Who did you meet with during your interview? And how long did it take to hear back from Nuance Communications?
I do not remember who I talked to remotely, but it took a matter of hours because I just had to pass a typing test and they are a desperate company.

No difficult questions.

They really don't care to ask questions; just give you a typing test to take.
What's the pay like for Product roles at Nuance Communications?
Pay is minimal if there is any work at all.
What's the vibe like in the Product dept at Nuance Communications? How many hours are you working?
Less than 20 when I quit because of no work available for U.S.
How's the leadership on the Product team at Nuance Communications?
Leadership is sneaky and dishonest. If you question anybody, your are either ignored or passed along to somebody else until you stop asking questions.
How much diversity is there among employees at Nuance Communications?
Probably a lot since we don't see each other and other countries are part of Nuance.
How rewarding is your job at Nuance Communications?
The only reward you have is your paycheck. You can take pride in doing a good job at helping to make sure a patient's record is accurate.
How common are layoffs at Nuance Communications?
Getting a lot more common. Since the hack and the time it took to get back online, few customers are coming on and there are a number of customers who did not come back after the hack.
How do you feel about going to work at Nuance Communications everyday?
Better than a long commute. It's a job. Same as anywhere else except I don't have to drive.

How secure do you feel at your job at Nuance Communications?
I don't. For as long as I have been with this company I have not felt secure.
What's the best part of your job at Nuance Communications?
Being able to work from home.
How do you feel about Nuance Communications's future?
Iffy. I can see where there will be more use of the individual VR integrated into Epic & other systems rather than paying to a big organization and hoping to get your file back in a timely manner without too many mistakes after being edited.
How challenged are you at Nuance Communications?
Not. The work is basically the same. Know medical terminology and the basic report formats. Just fill in the blanks with what the doctor dictates.
How's the work pace at Nuance Communications?
Variable. You have periods during the day (week, month, year) where you will have work and then no work. It is not consistent.
How's the vacation policy at Nuance Communications?
Not really very good. Depending on how long you have been with the company you can earn hours. Top being 152 a year (28 a quarter) after 7 plus years. You cannot carry this over. This covers sick time plus any time you do not meet your weekly time. The pay rate for those hours is based on your production time the week before.
Does Nuance Communications have any remote positions?
A majority of employees work from home -- MLS, Quality, Team Leads, etc. Only top management work out of the offices which are spread out in different states.
