How employees describe working at Office Depot

Compensation was less than what I requested when hired. Expected to juggle and be proficient in many different granular tasks. Have to meet wildly inflated rewards and sales goals in order to receive higher wages and be promoted.

They offered me more money than I asked for.

Customer service, policy, ethics and all around service. They make up their policy by location and nothing is in concrete with the company. Each location closes earlier than other stores

A lot of responsibilities for not a lot of money.

It was awful. Managers were awful. I quit because if the way a manager treated me as well as costumers.

Asked to all employees at Office Depot

  • The rvp is hard on everyone from the dm down to the store level Dont feel challenged Feel threatened

  • I’m challenged in as much as the unrealistic expectations within the time and support constraints. I am also challenged daily to take a self respect beating when I am demeaned and spoken to like a piece of garbage by the most ungreatful disrespectful customers and turn them around with a little love and by the time they leave the store they are thanking me for the assistance they have gotten and or apologizing for their behavior toward me and I he rest of the store staff.

  • The store manager keeps us updated about what’s going on either In huddles or over the headsets as we work!

  • There is very little if any encouraging feedback from the company.its all what have you done for us lately at the little monitory compensation we have you roped off with.

Asked to all employees at Office Depot

  • We don’t do team outings — usually the manager provides food or snacks brought in and we have things for our breaks or lunches and our Christmas parties are at the store after store closing

  • There are no team outings for the Face of the company, only the corporate employees. The people that actually make the company are disregarded and unappreciated. No company holiday party or morale and unity building outings ever. The Bendore treat the stir level employees better that the company itself. Then they wonder why the company is doing the perverbial rope-a-dope and getting its ass handed to itself.
