Oracle does not promote from within nor do they tread petformers. Negotiate the highest base you can because you will never get an increase and that limit any move by tying increases due to new positions to a low factor above the low base you start with. Managers are ignorant of how to advance and promote employees. Oracle is a good logo to build your resume but not a career place. Lots of bullies. Since managers are not empowered to lead or motivate you have many laggards who just take advantage of the company but are not contributing to a strong respectful environment. Oracle should bring all of its US support back to the US. Quality would go up and their corporate respect would increase. It is an inhumane machine.

There are a lot of people at Oracle that say something like "That is the way we have always done it" This is more than just a saying, it is the corporate philosophy here at Oracle. This leads to challenges when it comes to solving problems. It is also unfortunate that teams are so well silo'd here at Oracle. It is just hard to work together as teams
