How do you feel about Seagate Technology's future?
These are stale answers. The company currently is driving to innovate with different data storage solutions with expansion at the edge and endpoint. As with any technology company, older more archaic parts of the business are shrinking, new emerging parts are growing.
The outlook is dim. I expect the company to shrink until somebody buys it.
It's one of only two relevant players in a dwindling, commodity technology.

Be willing to do whatever it takes to accomplish the companies goals with no recognition

Poor for entry level developers. Hard to increase salary for several reasons; bonuses are limited, raises are usually ~2% or less, promotions are handicapped by quotas

Not at all
Its not secure, I'm losing my job in March.

Depends on the day. Sometimes it's good, most of the time it's turning the crank

Hard - work / life balance isn't good
Depends on what you are working on. In many organizations weekend work is common but can be done remotely
If you could make changes, how would you improve the culture at Seagate Technology?
Focus on delivering kinetic energy, not potential energy.
Overall, the culture is good but it's a big company and slow to make changes and that can be frustrating. There is a lot of the mindset of "we've always done it this way".

Clueless. Spent billions of dollars on technology we knew wouldn’t work and got blindsided by the competition. Now three years behind
Mosely is just starting to take over as CEO so it's hard to say right now. Luczo was overall good for HDD but made poor decisions for SSD
How does Seagate Technology make decisions around promotions?
Based on merit and current position. Lower levels get promoted faster
I asked my manager this exact question and I did not receive an answer as to what metrics they use to make promotions.
How's the vacation policy at Seagate Technology?
unlimited
Seagate changed over to not tracking vacation, so there are no set vacation days. We still have company holidays but how much vacation each employee takes is up to the manager's discretion.

It was great for many years, right now its horrible because we are all losing our jobs.

Yes. The future of the company is not promising. The company is shrinking through layoffs and attrition
Younger talent is spending two years getting trained and leaving. Senior talent is leaving for better paying jobs in industries that are not shrinking. This is happening at an increasing rate.
How do the current devs on the team act towards new developers that join?
There is a good onboarding program and new developers are treated well
Very supportive with a lot of training and mentoring

Too many remote senior executive managers who don't know what the rank and file are doing. Communications via 1-1 are frequently canceled
