I've seen it grow understanding the software/technology side is a competitive advantage and we exploited that treating software/tech as a profit center. And then a recent transition to a less progressive view that software/tech is a cost center.

They understand our business in depth.

People care about our customers and are proud of our products.
What makes you most happy at work?
Resolving issues and doing new work at a quick pace (avoiding too much process).
Why do you feel undervalued and what would make you feel better about your compensation?
Adjusted for inflation, my TC is down 50% from 2018 when we had RSUs. An equity position / RSU equivalent shared with a larger part of the organization is needed.
What do your coworkers need to improve and how could you work together better?
Outsourced coworkers are now the majority of my coworkers and are not at the same skill or business sophistication level as the people they replaced. Timezone differences are also a challenge. Status meetings are mostly tense and the overall tone testy.
