I have learned more than I thought possible. I have more confidence than I expected. I feel supported beyond belief. I feel proud to tell people that I work at SmartBug.
I feel that there is a long list of benefits beyond the salary.
I think the PTO is fair and working remotely allows me to need less PTO than I would have at other companies.
Everyone is friendly and helpful. I have never been made to feel like I'm bothering anyone or that I'm incompetent if I ask for help.
It's a tie between their transparency and openness with the rest of the company AND their genuine care and concern with the happiness and success of every employee.
Their transparency and how open they are to feedback for the purpose of improving the company. They also seem to genuinely care about each and every employee as a person.
Truly everyone is not only incredibly intelligent but equally as eager to stop what they are doing and offer a helping hand. The power of multiple SmartBugs working on the same challenge is unstoppable.
Everyone is kind, enthusiastic, cheering for the success of everyone else. If there is competition or animosity, I haven't seen it. It's powerful and rewarding to be able to share your triumphs with your entire team.
I love the flexibility combined with clear expectations. I know what's expected of me, I'm given the tools to succeed, but I'm also seen as a human being with life beyond work. It's a great balance.
We are all looking out for one another and looking for opportunities to help each other succeed. I have yet to work with anyone who gave the impression they were in it for personal gain only. It's a very collaborative environment.
I think I'm consistently impressed that there is a strong culture in a 100% remote company. There is a perfect balance of positivity and helping each other solve problems, while also still being realistic and able to vent when needed without judgment.
They balance connecting with me to get to know me as a person and talking to me about work-related topics. Conversations never feel transactional. They are always like a chat with a friend. I think it's incredible that that feeling exists, especially within a remote organization.
The flexibility to do my work when I need to and also be a good mom when I need to do that instead. Having your leadership tell you that your family comes first makes you want to give your clients and coworkers the same love you give your family.
Being part of a company where I feel my opinion and ideas are heard and taken seriously. I want to be in an organization where I have consistent opportunities to add value. I think that the best way to feel that is by being heard, both by your team and the executive team.
One thing that stood out to me was when they had to pause raises because of the uncertainty of COVID, but then once reinstated, paid me for the time I didn't have a raise but would have without COVID. I didn't feel it was necessary as I was sympathetic to the struggles, but it was appreciated.
I can't believe how much of a company culture and closeness exists with a remote company. There seems to be an extra level of comfort that comes from people working from home and sharing that with the person they are on a video call with. You meet the kids or pets of a coworker and instantly bond.
