Social Security Administration Environment Employee Reviews

What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?

Working for the public good

Once you are off "review" at the SSA, you typically gain more independence in managing your workload. While you're expected to meet certain performance metrics, you have more control over how you organize your tasks and handle cases without constant oversight.

I don't find the public as difficult as many of my co-workers do.

commitment of the employee and leader

Flexible work schecules, ability to work from home, recognition programs, growth opportunities.

No weekends. Flexible leave schedule.

A few very good co-workers who know their stuff, share it willingly, and look to serve the public -- not themselves or execs.

You have the opportunity to help the public.

Review from Customer Support Dept

The most positive thing is that we try to always help each other and remain positive and try to help clients, of course

We are making medical decisions on disability claims. If we have we have questions we have many people that are willing to help.

Review from Operations Dept

What needs to change to make the company culture better?

Hold employees accountable for their wrong action

Manage passes outrageous lists and finds ways to sabotage every work day with wild expectations. They will compare you to everyone else and keep you in the same position if your good.

Review from Operations Dept

My company doesn't need to change anything.

Management needs to sell a better message
