I have a multicultural team, and the dynamics between us make the job interesting, especially as we learn about each other on a daily basis.

Communication & integrity! There's no reason why a major should find humor in his captain being unaware of what's going on and making jokes to the lieutenant about the captain feeling "left out of the loop". There's no reason why a lieutenant should be divulging private company info. Just saying...
