What's the office layout like at Zayo Group?
We have offices worldwide. I can speak to our Denver and Boulder offices. Boulder offices are modern and open layout with fully equipped kitchens and many office spaces to take calls or host meetings. Denver office is a bit more rustic (shared building) on Wynkoop. Still open layout but we also have the basement so minimal natural light down there.
How do I do well in an interview at Zayo Group?
Show that you are willing to work in a fast paced environment and be willing to work on many AHOD projects with minimal notice and possibly some undesirable hours.
How would you describe your overall experience interviewing at Zayo Group?
A bit tough to get a good time to interview. I Needed to reschedule, not kidding, seven times to get us to connect. Overall it was great, didn’t feel intimidated and I felt qualified from the questions asked.

What's the vibe like in the Product dept at Zayo Group? How many hours are you working?
Vibe is relaxed. Very hands off. I work 30 hours per week (I am part time during school year). But most people on our team and myself over non-school year, usually work around 55 hours per week.
What's the Product team like at Zayo Group?
Fast paced, everyone is an expert at what they do but is willing to help out when needed
How's the leadership on the Product team at Zayo Group?
Changes a lot. In the last fiscal year my manager had changed 4 times and my overall team is completely different aside from 3 people.
How long do the interviews usually take at Zayo Group?
My interview with my current manager was about 12-14 minutes. Very quick and to the point. However my coworker, same manager, took about an hour and a half to finish the interview. Both positive experiences. I wouldn’t consider shorter or longer interviews better because at the end of the day we both received offers.
What's the vibe like in the Sales dept at Zayo Group? How many hours are you working?
It's a Sales role. You work as your customers need you. Is there an internal expectation that you're working past 9-5? Not really. But just like anywhere else, you'll be expected to be externally responsive when you need to be. That said, there is a lot asked out of Sales here that goes beyond direct quota attainment activity - some of it is productive, some of it is questionably productive - and it is unlikely that you will both make quota sustainably and also hit your other KPIs working only 40 hours a week consistently.
How often do raises happen at Zayo Group?
Don't hold your breath. They happen but it takes a lot of teeth pulling for mid-level managers to get increases approved. Expect it to be a 2-3 year cycle. The company is striving to increase transparency on this front but has yet to execute on it.
What makes you most happy at Zayo Group?
People in other groups are underqualified for their jobs and spread too thin. I feel like I often have to do other people's work for them.
What do you like best about the leadership team at Zayo Group?
They are genuinely and personally invested in the success of the company.
What are some of the best things about your team at Zayo Group?
They're good people and hard workers.
What is the best part about your compensation package at Zayo Group?
Cash portion of compensation was reduced to make way for equity compensation, rather than using equity compensation as an augment.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at Zayo Group?
I have no positive feedback about the culture or environment beyond my specific team members, who are great.
