What's the HR team like at ZipRecruiter?
Some members of the HR team are more knowledgeable than others, and will get back to you quicker. If you are attempting to join the HR team, I would be very wary of who you report to as the HR team, in particular, is not great with promoting based on merit. Management is lukewarm and all over the place.
Competent, talented, made up of different personality types. You'll usually get quick responses to inquiries.
How does ZipRecruiter make decisions around promotions?
There are annual and quarterly promotions. Your manager has to "pitch" you to a board of decision makers to put you up for promotion.
All employees are given an annual review. In addition, there is also a quarterly review for any candidate up for a promotion outside of annual review time. Your immediate manager would create a case for your promotion and present to an HR committee, which is responsible for approving promotions and raises.
