I thought that working at SPS was going to be excellent, but then I discovered that it's mostly the same as other corporate environments. The only reason that I'm still here is because I don't have the privilege of not working or having coveted skills. Feeling disappointed.

My team is always there to help each other. They are witty and kind and enjoy learning. They deserve much more than what SPS is currently offering them.

Employees aren't afraid to speak candidly with other employees about their experiences at SPS. Outside of that, SPS seems to be more toxically positive (corporate theater) than real positive.

I don't like the leadership team because they seem gaudy and out-of-touch (for example, holding an in-person Growth Summit to talk about unstopped growth while ignoring existing pay inequality and non-competitive wages at SPS).

Pay SPS employees competitive wages. Stop siloed information between departments and teams. Make sure that portal and tool updates are adequately tested before moving them into production (because it's stressful otherwise). Stop boasting about company growth when employees don't benefit from it.

Make good on company values (not just corporate theater). If employees really do come first, then making us come into the office isn't really putting us first, is it? Many consecutive quarters of growth? Cool, but why are you lowballing employees with their salaries and merit increases?

I'm being paid $10k less than the median income for similar positions within my geographic area. The pay increase that I'm eligible for this year doesn't make up for inflation. You require that employees pay for parking within their own SPS-named building. Only one health-insurance co is offered.

Salaries within my team are about $10 less than the regional median (not average, median) salary for the same type of work. SPS is always bragging about how well we're doing but then doesn't really invest anything back into their employees. SPS only cares about growth, not employees.

I want SPS management to be supportive, not directive. I want to be able to work remotely when my positive doesn't have any responsibilities that require me to be in the office (especially when I don't even have my own desk). I want to be paid fairly and feel like SPS is worthwhile.
