Was optimistic when Flannery said we'd stop living quarter to quarter... Culp seemed to say the same... nothing has changed in that regard.

Constantly challenged. The number of issues and the constantly changing priorities make for a hyper pace. Helps distract to some degree. Always something to fix.

In ~15 years I have had 5+ salary freezes, my healthcare is far more expensive, bonuses have been manipulated or caveated each year... in short, it is more expensive to work at GE than it was before. Thus the attrition we are seeing. Most get 20% more to leave...

GE has some incredible people. The resiliency and ability to perform in spite of the short sightedness and quality challenges is amazing. And leadership doesn't realize the work going on in the trenches that keeps us afloat. Nowhere near enough reward for this stuff, which is above the role resp.

Excited assumes looking forward to the days content. Reality is there are so many issues and then your regular job to do. So yes, I am willing and accept the challenge, but I have been told by many that what they see in jobs outside of GE is more structured and rooted in strategy, not just volume.
