I've been here a long time and have always felt pride in my company and job. I still love my job and co-workers, but the DEI and ERG stuff and the closing of small town branches really bothers me. That stuff makes it hard to feel pride in the company.
I enjoy the interaction with my co-workers.
We are a profitable company.
I like the retirement matching.
I like that the company still seems to be profitable.
I enjoy my co-workers and most of what I do.
I find the retirement match to be generous compared to other companies.
I like the hybrid schedule of being able to work from home.
I think we are a good team who has been together for quite some time.
We are a tight-knit group who actually cares about each other on a personal level.
We are a tight knit group, like a family. We care about each other as people.
Everyone wants more pay. It just isn't keeping up with inflation. And I know we'll never get back there again, but I missed the Insurance we had before HSAs.
I remember when we were still "We are First Merchants" before all the ERGs, and there are enough of those still here at the company that keeps the company together and running.
I think we need to stop it with the DEI and ERGs. I think they disrupt the cohesion of the company and instead of unifying us they silo us into compartments. A lot of people are left out. Also, I think closing the small town branches is a huge mistake that will come back to bite us.
