I came from a Big 4 firm, and the competitive culture and politics there were a daily drain on my stress level. I've found that working for a great company like Centric makes me want to be more thoughtful and creative to solving problems, and when I work late, I don't have a grumpiness like I did.
What do you like best about the leadership team?
They are deliberate about keeping the culture and are constantly reevaluating how they are doing against it. They are always asking for real-time feedback on initiatives, strategy, etc.
What is the best part about your compensation package?
As a leader of a service offering, my bonus can be fairly substantial, and I have a lot of control over that, based on my performance and focus during the year.
What makes you most happy at work?
I like that I have a very specific role and value, and I play in a space where there's not 5 more of me competing against me. I like being valued and valuable.
What is most positive about the culture and environment at your company?
Everybody wants to collaborate. There may be differences of opinion, but we work together to overcome bad feelings related to it ("Social Contract"). There is very little territorialism and tribalism. This was a rampant problem at my last firm.
What are some of the best things about your team?
Everyone has been around the block a few times and knows that they need to be part of the solution if we want to solve a problem. The maturity of my co-workers is high, and I look forward to learning from them.
